Limburger Domsingknaben (Choir)

Die Limburger Domsingknaben (the Limburg cathedral singers) were founded in 1967 by bishop Dr. Wilhelm Kempf. It is now one of the best known boy choirs of Germany. The main task of the choir is the high mass in the Limburg cathedral. It sings also elsewhere in the diocese.

The choir consist of a boarding school with 30 boys and 120 boys who live in the neighbourhood and attend the daily lessons. Regular performances in other countries are part of the program.

The choir has a rich reportoire that varies from Gregorian unto contemporary works. The repertoire consists also of popular songs and madrigals from all over the world.
